The aim of this course is to provide an analytical picture of the Italian economic system, with specific attention to its relative position in the European Union (and among OECD countries) and to the main features and recent evolution of its product and labour markets.
Contenuto del corso:
Course contents:

Lectures will be focused on the following main topics: 1. Economic performance and growth in Italy in a comparative perspective 2. Product markets: features and regulation 3. Labour market: features, policies and recent reforms, with specific attention to: 3a. interaction with product market regulation 3b. the impact of the European Employment Strategy (EES) and Lisbon targets 4. Costs and Benefits of the European Monetary Union (EMU) and its impact on real markets
