Contenuto del corso:
Course contents:
"My name is John Ford. I make westerns".
"My name is John Ford. I make westerns". John Ford is one of the fathers of American cinematography. He started his career with David W. Griffith and made, up to the 1960s, dozens of films, many of which were masterworks. He put an indelible imprint on the western, but also made films about social and civic duty. Films made in the Hollywood classic period, from the 1930s to the early 1960s, will be presented. Questions tied to the Hollywood production mode can thus be dealt with, just as much as those tied more directly to the director's poetics.
