Prerequisites:
Successful completion of the exams in Spanish Language I, II, III and Spanish Literature I, II and III; CEF C2 level of linguistic ability.
Educational goals:
To acquire the four communication skills of C2 level. To acquire a competence of the main text genres used in written communication between the citizen and the judicial authority in Spain.
Course contents:
The course will adress the theoretical analysis and the translation of the main text genres used in judicial investigation in Spain, as concerns the communication between the victim of a crime and the judicial authority. An introductory study of the linguistic mechanisms which preside over reported speech in a judicial context will be conducted, in order to stress the differences in the strategies activated by the involved parties both in Spanish and in Italian in the relevant genres. Text analysis, regarded as an essential preliminary observation, will be supplemented by translation into Italian of some texts belonging to the addressed genres.
