Obiettivi formativi:
Educational goals:		 Questo corso si prefigge l'obiettivo di studiare il fenomeno "Berlino" dal punto di vista di una topografia letteraria che interessa il Romanticismo e l'Espressionismo tedeschi. Uno degli scopi del corso è quello di cogliere le mutazioni culturali della città attraverso la lettura di testi classici della letteratura tedesca.
The course aims to study the phenomenon of "Berlin" from the point of view of literary topography involving German Romanticism and Expressionism. One of the purposes of the course is to understand the cultural changes of the city by reading the classics of German literature.
Contenuto del corso:
Course contents:		 Nell'ottica di un avvicinamento alla tradizione letteraria tedesca che vede in Berlino il fulcro di un discorso sulle inquietudini storico-culturali della Germania dall'800 al primo '900, si prendono le mosse da uno dei testi-chiave che riguardano la metropoli nel Romanticismo: "Des Vetters Eckfenster" di E.T.A. Hoffmann. Accostato al celebre film di Hitchcock, "La finestra sul cortile" (1954), quest'opera offre numerosi spunti per discutere sulle tecniche dello sguardo e per lavorare, confrontandole, sulle suggestioni uditive e visive che pervadono "Berlin Alexanderplatz" di Alfred Döblin (1929). Tra considerazioni di tipo antropologico, sociale e letterario, l'analisi delle due opere può restituire appieno l'atmosfera di una città che oggi, più che mai, dopo la caduta del Muro di Berlino, mostra un valore aggiunto grazie alle narrazioni che l'hanno riguardata nel corso dei secoli.
In order to examine more closely the German literary tradition that considers Berlin to be at the heart of the historical-cultural anxieties in Germany from 1800 to the early 1900s, the course starts with one of the key texts concerning the metropolis in the period of Romanticism, "Des Vetters Eckfenster" by E.T.A. Hoffmann. Combined with Hitchcock's famous film, "Rear window" (1954), this work offers numerous ideas for discussing viewing techniques and for working, by comparison, on the auditive and visual suggestions that pervade "Berlin Alexanderplatz" by Alfred Döblin (1929). As a result of anthropological, social and literary considerations, the analysis of the two works fully recreates the atmosphere of a city which today, more than ever, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, demonstrates an extra quality thanks to the narration in which it has figured prominently over the centuries.

Gli studenti Erasmus frequentanti o interessati a sostenere l'esame sono pregati di contattare la docente nelle ore di ricevimento per concordare il programma. Anche gli studenti non frequentanti sono invitati a incontrare la docente per una consulenza relativa alla preparazione dell'esame. Tutti i materiali possono essere ordinati presso la libreria CELSB di Via Pignolo (BG) o tramite altre librerie (anche per mezzo di motori di ricerca on-line).
A visiting Erasmus lecturer may be coming from Germany to participate. Attending Erasmus students or those who are interested in taking the exam are asked to contact the lecturer during visiting hours to agree on a study programme. Non-attending students are also asked to meet the lecturer to agree on the preparation for the exam. All the materials may be ordered from the CELSB bookshop in Via Pignolo (BG) or from other bookshops (also through search engines on-line).
