Educational goals:
Approfondimento e applicazione delle conoscenze acquisite nel modulo A attraverso l'analisi e la discussione dell'approccio degli studi postcoloniali agli studi shakespeariani e in particolare alla Tempesta e ad alcune riscritture contemporanee del testo.
The course examines more closely and apply the knowledge acquired in module A by analysing and discussing the postcolonial critical approach to Shakespeare studies with particular regard to The Tempest and some contemporary re-writing of this text.

Course contents:
Attraverso un'analisi testuale ravvicinata si considereranno i modi in cui il testo della Tempesta costituisce una rappresentazione del colionial encounter. L'approccio critico postcoloniale sarą esaminato nel contesto dei Shakespeare Studies. Il corso prenderą in esame anche alcune riscritture contemporanee della Tempesta.
A close textual analysis of The Tempest will recognize in it a representation of the colonial encounter. The postcolonial critical approach will be considered in the wider perspective of Shakespeare Studies. The course will examine also some contemporary re-writings of The Tempest.
