To enable students to acquire the ability to analyse and interpret a literary text autonomously. To recognise the communicative, political and social potential of a literary text in the context of its time and subsequent periods.
Contenuto del corso:
Course contents:
Il corso prevede una lettura ravvicinata del testo shakespeariano della Tempesta nei diversi aspetti (pragmatico, retorico, metrico, tematico, filosofico) e tramite contestualizzazione storico letteraria. Si faranno riferimenti generali anche ad altri Romances di Shakespeare.
Tools and examples of literary analysis. The course aims to provide some critical tools needed to interpret texts of Elizabethan literature and culture with particular reference to Shakespeare's poetry and theatre. The course will be based on the reading and analysis of some examples of Elizabethan sonnets and some scenes taken from various Shakespearian plays in which poetic language prevails.
