Approfondimento e applicazione delle conoscenze acquisite nel modulo A attraverso l'analisi e la discussione di un tema culturale specifico (l'usura, l'uso e il profitto) nelle sue articolazioni poetiche e teatrali.
The course aims to examine more closely and apply the knowledge acquired in module A by analysing and discussing a specific cultural theme (usury, use and profit) in poetry and drama.

Attraverso un'analisi testuale ravvicinata si considereranno i modi in cui Shakespeare mette in scena la complessitą del tema dell'usura, dell'uso, del profitto e dell'interesse nei primi diciassette sonetti del canzoniere e in "The Merchant of Venice". Si vedranno inoltre le continuitą e le differenze del tema in relazione alla storia inglese rinascimentale e alla storia contemporanea .
By means of an in-depth analysis of texts, consideration will be given to the ways in which Shakespeare represents the complexity of the theme of usury, use, profit and interest in his first seventeen sonnets and in "The Merchant of Venice". The continuity of the theme and the differences will also be seen with reference to the history of the English Renaissance and modern history.
