Prerequisites:
The course is intended for students in the second year of Science of Communication. The course may also be attended by students from other degree courses or as a free choice.
Educational goals:
To provide a basic knowledge of German culture and its historical-political aspects from the origins to the present day.
Course contents:
An introduction to the different periods of German culture. The reading of texts that are representative of German history and culture, for example concerning Charlemagne, the peasants' revolt, Luther and others.

The final exam will consist of a test in German plus a summary in Italian of a German text dealing with the issues addressed during the course.

For the academic year 2009-2010, the course "German Culture II A" is borrowed from the course "German Literature II B". ERASMUS students are asked to contact the lecturer to agree upon a possible final thesis (Hausarbeit) in German. The course materials are available from the CELSB bookshop in Via Pignolo, from the S. Agostino library and partly on-line. The programme is the same for attending and non-attending students.
