Contenuto del corso:
Course contents:
L'attrazione esercitata dal sovrannaturale attraversa l'Ottocento francese nelle sue molteplici declinazioni: misticismo, ipnosi, satanismo, magia, ecc. Il corso intende esplorare l'apparizione di tali fenomeni, divenuti nel corso del secolo attività d'intrattenimento quando non delle vere e proprie mode, interrogandosi in particolare sul loro intreccio con la scrittura letteraria, che ne testimonia appieno la vitalità e la complessità.
The attraction of the Supernatural goes along the French Nineteenth-century showing different aspects: Mysticism, Hypnosis, Satanism, Magic, etc... The course intends to explore the expression of these phenomena which become, along the Century, real activities of entertainment and even full-blown events of fashion. The aim of the analysis will focuses on their relationship with the literary writing which proves their vitality and complexity.
