|
Obiettivo formativo della Storia contemporanea è di fornire allo studente le basi essenziali di conoscenza dei principali eventi storici mondiali a partire dall'ultimo trentennio del XIX secolo fino agli anni Settanta del XX secolo. I corsi illustreranno alcuni nodi storici, di cui saranno approfonditi i caratteri ed esaminate le interpretazioni storiografiche. L'obiettivo è di riuscire a far orientare lo studente all'interno dei ?grandi temi? della storia contemporanea, analizzando le continuità e le fratture, la problematica interpretativa, i collegamenti tra i vari aspetti politici, economici, sociali e culturali, nonché le relazioni tra le vicende nazionali ed internazionali.
To provide a general overview of main world events starting from the last thirty years of the 19th century to the 1970s. The course looks at some key historical points that will be developed by examining historiographical interpretations. The aim is to allow students to orientate themselves in relation to the "grand themes" of modern history, analysing the continuities and the breaks, discussing issues of interpretation and examining the ties between political, economical, social and cultural aspects as well as the relationship between national and international events.

I 2 moduli di Storia contemporanea, 3B e 3A con cui si consiglia l'abbinamento, vertono su temi di carattere generale, attinenti alla storia europea e mondiale del XIX e XX secolo; e su argomenti riguardanti la storia d'Italia, che verranno esaminati in modo più analitico. L'analisi degli eventi sarà accompagnata da una descrizione delle principali linee interpretative. Il corso si concentrerà essenzialmente sugli eventi compresi tra le due guerre mondiali.
Il numero delle pagine dei testi di riferimento deve essere considerato indicativo.
Verranno affrontati, e approfonditi criticamente:

o L'Italia dopo l'Unità. La Destra storica
o L'Italia dopo l'Unità. Il cosiddetto ?trasformismo?
o Protezionismo e questione meridionale
o L'età giolittiana e l'industrializzazione
o Il riformismo politico e l'organizzazione dei conflitti sociali
o La prima guerra mondiale in Italia.
o La crisi dello stato liberale in Italia e l'avvento del fascismo.
o Il regime fascista e il ?totalitarismo imperfetto?.
o L'alleanza con la Germania, la guerra, la caduta del fascismo
o Le Resistenze: la resistenza armata, la resistenza senza armi, la resistenza passiva. L'antifascismo come base dell'identità nazionale italiana.
o La ricostruzione e il miracolo economico. Centrismo e centro-sinistra
o I movimenti degli anni Settanta. Giovani studenti, giovani operai, giovani donne: le trasformazioni delle culture e dei costumi come fattore di mutamento politico
o I movimenti degli anni Settanta. Democrazia industriale, consigli di fabbrica e ristrutturazione. Le origini della crisi degli anni Ottanta
The two Modern History modules 3A and 3B - which students are advised to take together - examine general themes in European and world history during the 19th and 20th centuries, and issues relating to Italian history, which are studied more closely. The analysis of events will be accompanied by a description of the main lines of interpretation. The course will concentrate essentially on the events between the two world wars. The page numbers given for the reference works must be regarded as final. Module 3B is entitled "Italy after unification" and will consider the following themes: The historic right - Italy after unification. The so-called "transformation" - Protectionism and the question of the South. - The age of Giolitti and industrialisation. - Political reformation and the organisation of social contracts. - The First World War in Italy. - The crises of the liberal state and the advent of Fascism. - The Fascist regime and "imperfect totalitarianism". - The alliance with Germany, the war, the fall of Fascism. - The resistance: armed resistance, unarmed resistance, passive resistance. Antifascism as the basis of Italian national identity. - Reconstruction and the economic miracle. Political parties of the centre and centre-left. - Political movements in the Seventies. Young students, young workers, young women: the transformation of the culture and customs as a factor in political change. - The movements of the 1970s. Industrial democracy, workers councils and restructuing. The origin of the crisis of the Eighties.

Gli studenti dovranno conoscere la storia contemporanea dal 1870 ad oggi. La valutazione avverrà attraverso alcune domande di storia generale e alcune domande su gli argomenti trattati a lezione e sui testi scelti.
Frequenza
Gli studenti freqentanti verranno esaminati sui contenuti delle lezioni e su un volume a scelta oltre il manuale. Gli studenti non frequentanti dovranno portare 3 libri di lettura critica, oltre al manuale. Nel caso di frequenza parziale, il programma verrà concordato con il docente alla fine del corso.
