Prerequisites:
A knowledge of the Arabic language equal to that indicated in the course contents of Arabic Language IA (code 3003).
Educational goals:
Introduction to the language of Arabic journalism. Presentation of the verbal system, and of the syntac of subordinates. Introduction to Islam: history and institutions.
Course contents:
Word: - derivative forms of healthy verbs - revision of relatives - revision of the verbal system - masdar - imperatives, active and passive participles of the derivative form - revision of negation. Syntax: - relative phrases with or without pronouns - phrases with 'in/'an 'inna/'ana - kana and analogous words - 'inna and similar particles - 'to want' and 'to be able' Vocabulary: - cards: home, human body, city, colour - the construction of newspaper language.

Lectures, with audiovisual material + 20 hours of exercises with a native speaker

Reading, translaton and linguistic comment on texts taken into consideration during the course. Brief questions on Islam.

Other information:
During the exercises, students will consolidate their understanding through readings, and conversations dictated from units d and e (texts and exercises). Non-attending students should substitute reference text 1 (units d and e of "Iman") with a chosen Arabic text to be agreed with the teacher and delivered to the same in writen Italian translation, at least three weeks before the session in which they intend to take the exam.
