Il corso intende fornire un approfondimento di alcuni temi della storia e della cultura degli Stati Uniti studiando le trasformazioni del codice sentimentale nella prima metą del XX secolo.
The course develops themes in the history and culture of the United States by studying the change in the language of sentiment of the first half of the 20th century. |

Il discorso amoroso nella cultura anglo-americana del Novecento: il conflitto tra emozione soggettiva e istituzioni farą da filo conduttore all'analisi di una serie di testi letterari scritti tra il 1900 e il 1945. Nella descrizione del modo in cui le trasformazioni dell'intimitą interagiscono con le forme di espressione artistica, verrą assegnato ampio spazio alle teorie del desiderio elaborate in ambito psicoanalitico.
The language of love in Anglo-American culture of the 20th century. The conflict between individual emotions and institutions is the underlying thread of a series of literary texts written between 1900 and 1945. In describing the way in which the changes in personal intimacies interacted with artistic expression the course also looks at the theories of desire from a psychoanalytical point of view. |
