Temi e forme del gotico americano. Le fasi principali della cultura degli Stati Uniti dell'Ottocento verranno analizzate a partire da una serie di racconti di matrice gotica. La narrativa del terrore sarà oggetto di una riflessione teorica che spazierà dalla critica psicoanalitica agli studi culturali.
American gothic: themes and forms. The main phases of nineteenth-century American culture will be analysed starting from a series of gothic stories. Terror narrative will be the subject of a theoretical reflection ranging from psychoanalytical criticism and cultural studies.
