Obiettivi formativi:
Educational goals:		 Il corso intende fornire agli studenti gli strumenti per indagare e analizzare secondo quali processi le lingue mutano nel tempo.
The course aims at providing students with the instruments to investigate and analyse investigating and analysing the processes of change that affect languages in time.
Contenuto del corso:
Course contents:		 Il corso verterà prevalentemente sugli aspetti di ricostruzione di famiglie linguistiche utilizzando procedimenti come la comparazione interna ed esterna, la cronologia assoluta e relativa, le leggi fonetiche, processi di lessicalizzazione e grammaticalizzazione.
The course will deal mainly with aspects regarding the reconstruction of linguistic families using procedures such as internal and external comparison, absolute and relative chronology, phonetic rules, lexicalisation and grammaticalisation.

The exam will assess whether the student has acquired adequate instruments for a diachronic analysis of languages.

Other information:		 L'esame del primo appello della sessione invernale è cocstitutio da una prova scritta ed è esclusivamente RISERVATO agli studenti che hanno frequentato durante l'anno in corso. In tutti gli altri appelli l'esame sarà orale. Il programma d'esame per igli studenti che frequentano verte sugli appunti e sul testo indicato in bibliografia. Gli studenti che per serie e documentate ragioni (per esempio, studenti che lavorano) non possono frequentare, dovranno contattare il docente per eventuali programmi alternativi.
The examination held in the first winter session consists of a written test and is RESERVED exclusively for students who have attended during the year in progress. In all the other sessions, the examination will be oral. The examination programme for attending students will be based mainly on the notes taken and the text referred to in the bibliography. Students who are unable to attend for valid and proven reasons (e.g. students who work) must contact the lecturer for possible alternative programmes.
